This Consent to Act as Public Officer has been developed in accordance with the Income Tax Assessment Act 1936 (Cth). Under this Act, all companies must appoint a Public Officer who will act as a point of contact for the Australian Taxation Office. Prior to the registration of a company, a public officer must be appointed. The proposed officer must provide written consent, and this must be retained in the company’s records.
